My name is Raúl, and I hopped the Atlantic 6 years ago going the other way. Born and raised in Paraguay, I lived there my entire life until I turned 18 when I moved to Italy to do my Bachelor’s in Economics at Bocconi University during the pandemic. After 4 years in Italy, I moved to Dublin to work as an AM at Google in 2024.

Six years after moving, I feel as European as I do Paraguayan, and I feel very established in Europe. That said, I do miss home, so I recently began advising European friends and entrepreneurs on how to establish a legal base in Paraguay: either for weather, taxes, safety, back-up plan, or for future planning. My family has run a legal practice in the region for almost 100 years now, so I decided to professionalize this help using their support.

Moving to Paraguay isn’t rocket science, but having an advisory partner and point of contact that is well-connected, knows the region, has established legal backing, and understands the European perspective goes a very, very long way.
